My birthday came and went, and now we're already 2 weeks into 4th year. I realized that medicine is what I want to do. I forgot how interesting it is to diagnose patients and work with them; to see them get better (or worse like one guy). The hours are long, and that can get you down after a while (my last day off was July 4), and I'm glad I got to sleep in today.

Today, I donated blood again, first time in 6 months. It turned out to be ABC 10 blood drive day, so I got a t-shirt, as well as the usual pint of Baskin Robbins, and 2 Chipotle burrito coupons. I guess I hit the jackpot today!

My next day off will be next Saturday (hopefully). I'll see if I can make it to the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at San Francisco. If not, maybe we'll catch it in 2 months before they leave.
