I ran 5 miles around Nobel Athletic Field today. I decided I will try for a 5K at some point in the near future. I ran one in Davis, the turkey trot, and I think my time was something like 25 minutes. I'll need to run faster now though. Today, I managed to keep an easy 8 min mile pace for 4 miles. I tried going fast one mile with PR of 7'4". That was tiring though! I'm going to set a goal of 6 min mile, at least for one mile, and build up from there. Wish me luck!

HS
Today, I met up with Yao. It's been more than a year since we last talked. It was fun to just sit and talk about the old times. Nothing's changed, except that we're getting older. Hopefully it won't be another year before we meet up. It'll be fun to see what's in store over the next few months.
I played basketball today as well. Still suck though, but not as bad as several weeks ago. These once a month basketball sessions are not enough for me to get better. But I have been running a lot more now, and I realized that I was not tired at all, like back in the med school days when I'll tire out after 30 mins.

VICU
Wow, it's been a while since I typed anything significant in here! I just returned from my vacation, and I still feel sluggish. I just took call at the VICU. Although it's not that busy, it's still work. During my vacation, I went to Las Vegas. We took a tour of Hoover Dam. Dude, there were no autobots in there! But it was an interesting ride down to the rotors where they generate electricity. We also watched a few shows. Phantom of the Opera was memorable! Apparently, the Venetian remodeled the theater for the musical, so everything fit. The chandelier was amazing. We also watched Mamma Mia. The songs are uplifting and the comedy was a good change of pace. Finally, we saw Menopause the Musical. Those women! Only one word... Crazy!!!
I also met up with a few high school friends. Everyone seems to be settling down with a career now, and another one is getting married. Man, things change fast. The rest of the break was just a time to relax. But it's back to work. Hopefully this month will go by fast, but I guess the ICU's not as intimidating as I imagined it to be.
